UN Alarmed by Reports Myanmar Airstrike Killed About 50

The United Nations expressed alarm after reports that a Myanmar military airstrike killed dozens of people near the Bangladesh border.

Reuters reported that the strike hit Kyauktaw in Rakhine state and that local authorities and armed groups reported heavy civilian casualties. The UN called for protection of civilians and humanitarian access as Myanmar’s civil conflict continues.
