ICE Expands 287(g) Partnerships Across Tennessee

ICE says Tennessee now has 120 local 287(g) partners as the state expands cooperation between sheriffs and federal immigration authorities.

The agency says participating departments can use jail, warrant-service and task-force models to identify removable noncitizens. Tennessee law requires sheriffs’ offices to enter an agreement by 2027, making the state a major test of expanded local-federal enforcement.
