A federal judge ordered the Bureau of Prisons to restore a collective-bargaining agreement covering roughly 30,000 federal prison employees.

The ruling is the latest court challenge to the administration’s efforts to narrow collective-bargaining rights across parts of the federal workforce. The Justice Department represented the Bureau of Prisons, while the prison-locals council sought restoration of the contract.
